Classes by Chef Tony
The Pastry Palace in Las Vegas is happy to announce that many of our decorating classes will include the talented and experienced Chef Tony (Trinh Hung). For many years Chef Tony has provided his expertise to some of the most famous hotels in Las Vegas and been recognized in multiple industry competitions for his work. Now he will be sharing his professional techniques with students at The Pastry Palace.
A specialist in the art of cream cakes, Chef Tony’s artistic talent is well-recognized in both his home country of Viet Nam and here in the U.S.. Familiar with decorating styles and techniques of many countries, his cake designs are original and unique, while maintaining a classic simplicity.
His initial classes at The Pastry Palace will focus on the many different types of flowers used in cake decorating, explaining the techniques, purpose, and artistic placement of florals, leaves, and complementary décor that he utilizes. The correct preparation and use of these elements can produce beautiful cake statues any baker would be proud to claim.
There are many styles of cake decorating
Many of Chef Tony’s own methods will be introduced in his classes, such as the use of time-saving whipped toppings like his fresh milk cream. The use of this recipe is not only a time-saver, but also easier for the beginner decorator to work with. It is a soft, light and fine texture that creates excellent results, offering an absolute whiteness not available in many other icing recipes.
We invite you to view the video for a ‘sneak peek’ of some of Chef Tony’s flower-creating techniques.
Future classes will include decorative techniques including the use of sugar flakes, chocolate and other materials in the décor of memorable cake presentations. As The Pastry Palace’s top cake decorating chef, Chef Tony looks forward to sharing his passion for the art of cake decorating with his students as they advance their own skills and continue their education in this field.
