Flowers are most important in decoration. A cake with beautiful flowers will become more aesthetic and lively. Those flowers also have their meanings like the real ones, and should be studied and arranged artistically and reasonably depending on each kind, each color and type.
To make flowers, you may use any tip (a cream applying tip) you find suitable for the kind of flower required. But the rose tip in most cases is used to create a large variety or roses, orchids, carnations, and other recognizable blooms.
You can have the inspiration to create a number of realistic, almost lifelike flowers, and can create other imaginary ones as well. Sometimes, ‘fictional’ flower designs are are even more beautiful and artistic. Should anyone ask you with interest & surprise: “What kind of flower is this?” Maybe, you will smile in confusion: ” How can I answer ? Please don’t ask!” Don’t worry: may I suggest the answer: “Its the cream cake…. flower.” Right! “Cream cake flowers” also called “variant flowers” have had a considerable place in decoration which embodies the wonderful creativeness of the craftsman.
Although the cream flower petals have flair and are fragile, you should pay attention to their core or support, because when the core is firm and straight, the petals will be made easily. Whether a flower is beautiful or not depends on you. Skill in creating flowers is not enough. It is in careful and gentle artistry that you give it loveliness and life. Imagine you are the original creator of these sweet and fresh flowers – lovely and worth admiration and appreciation.
There are many ways to make flowers. But to be more systematic, they are roughly divided into 3 main categories:
- Conic core (pointed core)
- Flat top core
- Making flowers with wafer corn
Conic core : This will produce many kinds of flowers, with petals stacked around the core, such as rose, chrysanthemum, carnation, dahlia, spiral (variant) flower, Princess- bean, Hibiscus Syriacus etc.
Flat top core: Will produce such flowers to be put on the core surface as orchid, pansy, liana, lotus, zantedeschia, aethiopica, etc.
Making flowers with Wafer corn: Will produce such flower with complex structure as hibiscus, bindweed, sunflower, honeycomb chrysanthemum, etc… In addition, we also have create other kinds of flowers by combining the petals, as in case of Princess-bean, variant flower.
Making flowers with conic core: There are four steps:
- Step 1: Make the core (flower core)
- Step 2: Make a bud on the top of core
- Step 3: Make petals around the core
- Step 4: Finish (spray colour, add the pistils…)
